Scottish Highlands hiking adventures 2021
Posted on 13/05/22 in munro-bagging
2021 has been good to me and certainly has been memorable and eventful!! Travelled all over the Scottish Highlands, treated to a multitude of magical views and experienced dozens of epic adventures!!
Hiking for a total of 338 hrs along 527 miles with 176,487ft altitude gained. To put this into perspective to give an idea of the sheer scale and size. That’s hiking non-stop for 2 weeks, literally the size of 6 Mount Everest’s, the distance of the Scottish National Trail which is the length of mainland Scotland from Kirk Yetholm to Cape Wrath.
2021 has been full of first-time experiences so hoping they’ll be plenty more
to come. It’s a great feeling doing something for the first time.
✅ Started a photography business
✅ Camping for first time ever, first camping holiday, first summit camp
✅ Taking in 79 Munros this year as well as Corbetts, Grahams, Sub2000s
✅ Cycled about 450 miles with 27,000ft altitude gained
✅ Reached half way point in a full round of Munros
✅ First snowy Munro hike
✅ First time up far north of Scotland
This year has been rubbish for many people. After reading other posts, for some
people including myself, it’s been a far better than 2020!! What a difference a
year can make!! Here’s hoping 2022 is great one for everyone!!!
