The Grey Corries

Scottish Highlands

Another epic day on the hills last Saturday with a hike along the Grey Corries!! Taken in 4 Munros and 5 Munro Tops. The views of the Nevis Range are absolutely magnificent!!! Included Stob Ban onto my hike although nearly got caught out in the dark because of it.

I was about 3500ft high, 1hr before sunset and still a further 7 miles to walk to where my tent was pitched. I could actually see where I was heading to and it was miles away!!! Fortunately, the descent is on a ridge with grassy terrain. So I speedily descended and occasionally jogged as I was determined to be off the mountain before darkness!!

By looking on the map, the route travels through an enormous forest!!! When reaching the forest, the light was fading, it was dense and it was boggy!! Basically, relying on my GPS app to guide me through the dense woodland. Luckily, this was only a short distance and was relieved after reaching the forest track. Darkness had fallen by that point and walked 3 miles back to the start of the route.

To sum it all up. The day was brilliant!! The views were stunning!! Just the descent was unpleasant because of the rushing. Nevertheless, the Grey Corries is a much better route than I anticipated!
