Munro-bagging season 2021
Posted on 13/05/22 in munro-bagging
My Munro-bagging season has been fascinating, exhilarating and discovered landscapes and areas of inconceivable beauty!!! It’s all a fun day out, getting up early in the morning, travelling through the highlands to reach the exciting start of the adventure!! Getting outdoors is beneficial to our mental health, makes you happy, makes us appreciate nature and interacting with fellow-hillwalkers increases confidence and self-esteem.
Seen so many magnificent views of the Scottish Highlands, spoke to tons of friendly people and captured a multitude of images of our beloved British landscape!! Discovering countless of corries, corrie lochans, lochs and glens. Visiting Scottish towns as well as numerous hamlets/villages I never knew existed. Felt great returning back to Torridon and Kintail, a couple of my favourite places!!
First time hiking in Coigach & Assynt and Sutherland and certainly will not be the last time. Being a Munro-bagger gains great amounts of knowledge of mountains around Scotland and I’m constantly developing navigational and photographic skills. My main highlights were Aonach Eagach for my 100th, reaching the halfway point in a full round, completing the Mamores, Nevis range and the five most northerly Munros!!! I’ve learned to appreciate it way more than last year.
This summer hasn’t all been about Munros, I had brilliant hikes on grahams Stac Pollaidh and Ben Mor Coigach!! As well as bagging Sub 2000s, Corbetts during Spring and visiting numerous places in the far North of Scotland.
