Taken during a hike on Beinn a’Chreachain and Beinn Achaladair, Scottish Highlands

What a day to reach the half-way mark in a full round of 282 Munros!!! The views from the Bridge of Orchy hills are amazing!!! An eventful day and really was quite the adventure!! The day couldn’t have started any worse with a road closure on the A82 due to a traffic accident. All the tech-savvy Google map users diverted straight for a congested 10 mile long single-track road ? It took me over an hour to reach the end the road ? In hindsight, should’ve done an alternative Munro route. Then perhaps, the hike wouldn’t have been as fantastic as it was!!

The hike started with a very scenic 4 mile walk-in alongside the corries of the 2 northerly Bridge of Orchy munros. Then ascending towards the impressive looking Coire an Lochain. Whilst walking along the ridge seen spectacular views of Glen Lyon (1st pic) and I can fully appreciate why Sir Walter Scott described it as the “longest, loneliest and loveliest glen” in Scotland.

Since I had a later than planned start. By the time reaching near the end of the route, it was pitch black. I was just slightly off the main path and became a bit disorientated with the GPS navigation. So took a short cut through a farm house to reach the track. I didn’t want to take a chance trying to locate the correct path in boggy land with very dark skies.
